How to preview a painting on your wall
Wallery answers one question: how will this painting look on my wall, at the right size? Here is exactly how it gets there.
1. Take a straight-on photo of your wall
Stand square to the wall so it isn't skewed, and frame the whole area where the art will hang. A normal phone photo is perfect. On the upload step you can open your camera directly.
2. Measure that wall area and enter it
Use a tape measure for the width and height of the section you photographed. Wallery uses the wall's real width to work out how many pixels represent one centimetre, which is what makes the preview accurate. Switch between centimetres and inches at any time.
3. Add the painting image
Upload a photo of the artwork, or save the product image from the shop you're buying from. A clean, front-on image gives the most realistic result.
4. Enter the painting's real dimensions
These are almost always on the product listing or the back of the frame. Wallery scales the painting to match — so if it's 90 cm wide and your wall is 300 cm wide, it will occupy roughly a third of the width in the preview.
5. Position it on the wall
Drag the painting to where you're thinking of hanging it. By default the scale is locked to reality. If you want to experiment with a bigger or smaller piece, unlock the scale and drag a corner — Wallery will remind you that this no longer reflects the real size.
6. Download your preview
Wallery composites the wall and painting — with a soft drop shadow — into a single image, adds a small Wallery logo watermark, and hands it to your device as a PNG. The file is built in your browser; it is never uploaded.
Is anything uploaded or stored?
No. Every step above runs with native browser APIs — FileReader, Image and <canvas>. Wallery makes no network request with your photos, writes nothing to local storage, and keeps no analytics on the images you choose. Refreshing the page clears everything.
